Converting a Single Round league event to an Advanced event unlocks multi-round, multi-pool, and multi-layout capabilities. This is a permanent, one-way change — you can't convert back once it's done.
When to convert to Advanced
Convert when you need:
Multiple pools — different divisions playing different layouts simultaneously
Multiple rounds — running a two-round tournament or multi-day event within your league
Multiple layouts or courses per round — each pool can use a different layout
Don't convert if:
You want recurring weekly events — Advanced events don't support recurrence
You use handicap scoring — Advanced events don't support handicaps
You only need pre-registration or card creation — the Formal sign-up template handles both without converting
Important: Converting to Advanced is permanent and can't be undone. If you change your mind, you'll need to create a new event from scratch.
How to convert
From the web:
Go to League tools → Events and select your event
Tap the Edit (pencil) icon
Tap Make this an advanced event in the top right
Read the confirmation warning and tap Confirm
From the app:
Tap the You tab → Menu (≡) → Dashboard
Select your league → Events tab → select your event
Tap the Edit (pencil) icon
Tap Make this an advanced event in the top right and confirm
Tip: Convert before players register if possible — it's easier to configure pools and rounds without existing registrations. If players have already registered, their registrations are preserved but you may need to reassign them to pools.
What happens to existing event data?
Most data is preserved when you convert:
Event name, date, and time — unchanged
Course and layout — becomes Round 1
Divisions and player registrations — preserved
Recurrence — disconnected. Other events in the series remain Single Round.
After converting
Once converted, you'll have access to rounds, pools, and advanced card management. See:
