๐Ÿ“‹ How to set up registration for your league or event

How to turn on registration, enable pre-registration, and let players pick their own card or tee time.

Registration on UDisc lets players sign up for your event in advance, so you know who's coming and can communicate with them before event day. Here's how to set it up.

Turn on registration

  1. In your Event tools, select the Registration tab.

  2. Select Yes next to I will be using UDisc to register players.

  3. Enter a date and time for registration open and close.

  4. Tap Save.

You can also configure:

  • Player count โ€” set a maximum number of players or teams, either overall or per division.

  • Registration cost โ€” list the cost per player, per team, or per division so players see it during sign-up.

Tip: Need to support walk-up registration on event day? Set the registration close date to Never so players can register right up until they play. Alternatively, turn off registration entirely and enable player self check-in instead โ€” head to the Registration tab and select Yes under Can participants check themselves in?

Once registration opens, players can sign up from the Events tab in the UDisc app or at UDisc.com/events.

Set up pre-registration for a league event

Pre-registration lets players commit to your event well before event day. The easiest way to enable it depends on the event type you're running.

Using the Formal sign-up template:

Select the Formal sign up template when creating a new league event. Pre-registration settings are pre-filled for you โ€” scroll to the Sign up type section to adjust when registration opens and closes.

Using the Advanced template:

Select the Advanced template for multi-round, multi-layout, or multi-pool events. After filling in your basic event settings, tap Continue to enter Event tools. From there, go to the Registration tab, select Yes next to I will be using UDisc for registration, set your open and close dates, and tap Save.

Note: Advanced events don't support handicap scoring or recurrence. If your league uses handicaps, use the Formal sign-up template instead.

Let players pick their own card or tee time

For singles and BYOP events with pre-registration enabled, you can let players select their own card grouping or tee time when they sign up.

When creating a new event:

With registration turned on, you'll see a Tee time selection or Card selection option during event setup. Fill in the details and tap Create event.

For an event you've already created:

  1. Go to the Events tab in your League tools.

  2. Tap the Edit (pencil) icon.

  3. Scroll to Tee time selection or Card selection.

  4. Toggle Yes for Require players to select a card during signup?

Note: Card selection is only available for teams events using In teams registration. If you're using Individual registration for a teams event, card selection isn't supported.

Tip: Use the Player message on the card selection page field to communicate grouping rules or expectations to players during sign-up.

How overbooking is prevented:

When setting up card or tee time selection you'll be asked How many players are on a typical card? โ€” players can't select a card or tee time that's already at its maximum. Players can also see which spots are available and who has already selected each card when they register.
