✅ How to allow check in for your UDisc league or event

Learn what league and event check in means, how to allow player check in, and scorecard creation.

Check-in lets you track who's at your event and ready to play. When check-in is turned on, players see a Check in button in the UDisc app. Once checked in, a green checkmark appears next to their name in Event tools → Participants.

Note: Check-in is not always mandatory. Players don't need to be checked in for you to create and publish scorecards for them.

Tip: Check-in settings only control what players can do themselves. As an admin, you can always manually check players in from the Participants tab and create cards for any registered player regardless of your check-in settings.

See How do I create and publish cards? for more on card setup.

Single round league events

For single round league events, check-in is configured in League tools → Events → Edit (pencil icon) → Sign up type.

Casual sign up has player check-in enabled by default. Players check in on event day and create their own scorecards.

Formal sign up requires players to pre-register in advance. On event day, players can still check in — this is pre-set to allowed under Advanced registration options → Players can check themselves in the day of the event. Tap Change if you want to prevent players from checking in on event day.

Note: If you set Who can create cards? to Players and event admin, this forces the check-in option to allow players to check themselves in. To prevent player check-in, set Who can create cards? to Just event admin first.

Casual multi-day round follows the same check-in behavior as Casual sign up — players check in and create their own scorecards.

Advanced league events

For Advanced league events, check-in is configured in League tools → Events → Edit event (which launches into Event tools) → Registration tabCan participants check themselves in?

This is set to No by default for Advanced events since most league admins prefer to set up cards themselves. Tap Change to allow players to check themselves in on event day.

Tournaments (standalone events)

For standalone tournament events, check-in is configured in Event tools → Registration tabCheck in section.

  • Select Yes to allow players to check themselves in on event day

  • Select No if you want full control over check-in as the admin
