Whether running a standalone event, or a league event at a course with limited cell service, please consider these recommended best practices to ensure a smooth experience for your players.
Set up an advanced event!
Make sure your event is an advanced event which allows you to set up card groupings and assign starting holes or tee times. If you’d prefer to have players create their own card groupings, then bringing a boosted wifi point to the tee area of hole 1 will make things easier for everyone to connect and download their scorecard.
Enable pre-registration
Having players pre-register will allow you (and any other admins) to create card groupings in advance, before anyone shows up to the course and even before the day of the event. You can then assign card groupings and publish their starting holes or tee times in advance and push scorecards to players’ phones.
Check in and create cards before hitting the course
Some cell carriers may provide better service than others at your course. Consider asking players who have a stronger signal to create their group’s scorecard, or better yet, delegate card management to a league or event administrator who has reliable service.
