If you want a closed group, such as a club or friends-only series, run your league with private events. Private events cover the need without any extra setup.
Set up your league
Apply for your league at udisc.com/leagues/apply with a name, main course, contact info and description. Many approvals are instant, and some take 24 to 48 hours.
Once the league is approved, set each event inside it to private.
How to make events private
On any league event template (Casual sign up, Formal sign up, Casual multi-day or Advanced), set Visibility to Private when you create it.
You can change it later in the General tab of Event tools, or in League tools, Events tab, then Edit.
Standalone events work the same way: at udisc.com/events/add, choose Private at the Visibility step.
What private events look like to players
They're hidden from the course page and the app's Events tab. Players can still find one by searching its exact full event name, or you can share a direct quick link.
They still appear in the Schedule tab on the league's home page, so the league page doesn't hide them.
Registration, scoring and live leaderboards all still work.
If every event is private, new players will have a hard time finding the league, since most discover leagues through events.
Invite-only home courses
If the league's home course is invite-only, new events default to Private, even if you change the course during setup. To make new events default to Public, switch the home course to one that isn't invite-only. Invite-only courses also don't auto-fill in course search, so you have to type the exact name.
Other notes
You don't need a new league each season. Update the name, details and standings date range in League tools, Settings. League name changes are reviewed.
If the group is playing at a course that isn't in the directory, see Private Courses — can I score & map my private course? for private courses and custom scorecards.
