If you want to run an invite-only or private event and keep score on UDisc, set visibility to Private when creating your event â or change it afterward in Event tools.
How to set up a private event
For a standalone event:
Go to udisc.com/events/add
When you reach Visibility in the setup, select Private event
For a league event:
Set visibility to Private when creating any league event template â Casual sign up, Formal sign up, Casual multi-day, or Advanced. You can also change visibility after creation in the General tab of your Event tools or by tapping Edit in your League tools > Events tab.
What is a private event?
Private events don't appear on the course page or in the Events tab in the app, unless searched for by exact full name. Private events support all UDisc Event tools â registration, scoring, and live leaderboards.
Note: Private events connected to a league will still appear on your league home page in the Schedule tab.
How will players find my private event?
Players need to search by the event's exact full name, or you can share a direct link. See How do I share my event quick link? for instructions.
Can I create a private league?
Leagues aren't private, but you can make all events within your league private. If all events are private, your league will be difficult for new players to discover since they primarily find leagues through events.
Can I create events on invite-only courses?
Yes â you can create both public and private events on invite-only courses, and you can use an invite-only course as your league's home course.
When you create a public event on an invite-only course, it will be visible in the Events tab and on the course listing. A private event will be hidden from both but will still appear on your league home page.
Note: When setting up the event, an invite-only course won't auto-populate in the course search. Type the course's exact name and it will appear so you can select it.
Important: If your league's home course is invite-only, new events will default to Private automatically â even if you change the event's course to something else during setup. To have new events default to Public, change your league's home course to a course that isn't invite-only. You can still create individual events on invite-only courses without this affecting the default.
