πŸ—‚οΈ UDisc event types – what's the difference?

An overview of every event type on UDisc, what each one is for, and how to choose the right one when creating your event.

When you create an event at udisc.com/events/add, you'll choose an event type first β€” and it can't be changed after creation, so it's worth picking the right one. Here's what each type is for.

League / weekly

Choose this if you already run a league on UDisc or want to start one. You'll have two options when you select this type:

Tournament

Choose this for standalone competitive events that aren't part of a league – one-time tournaments, annual competitions, or any scored event with a leaderboard. Tournaments support full scoring, rounds, pools, divisions, and registration. See How to create a tournament or event on UDisc for setup details.

Try Disc Golf

Choose this to host a beginner-friendly event designed to get new players into disc golf. Try Disc Golf events are non-scoring, social, and can be held anywhere β€” a park, a farmers market, a community space. They don't need to be at a disc golf course.

You can turn on registration and send player communications. When you select this type you'll get pre-filled descriptions and photos to make setup easy β€” there's no scoring, rounds, or leaderboard.

Try Disc Golf events have their own filter in the Events tab and at udisc.com/events so players looking for beginner-friendly events can find yours easily. Visit udisc.com/try-disc-golf to download the free resource kit before your first event.

Clinic

Choose this for instructional events focused on teaching disc golf skills. Clinics are non-scoring and have their own filter in the Events tab so players looking for learning opportunities can find them. You can turn on registration and send player communications β€” there's no scoring, rounds, or leaderboard.

Course cleanup

Choose this to organize a volunteer event to maintain or improve a disc golf course. Course cleanups are non-scoring and appear in their own filter in the Events tab. You can turn on registration and send updates to participants β€” there's no scoring, rounds, or leaderboard.

Other event (not disc golf)

Choose this for any community event that doesn't fit another category β€” social gatherings, fundraisers, or other activities organized by your disc golf community. You can turn on registration and send communications, but there's no scoring, rounds, or leaderboard. This type doesn't have a dedicated filter and will appear in general event listings.
