🌟 What is the Course Ambassador Program?

Course Ambassadors are the people behind every accurate course map on UDisc β€” the club members, park officials, and dedicated local players who keep course information current so every player can show up knowing what to expect.

Audience: Anyone curious about the program, new and existing Course Ambassadors | Level: Beginner

What Ambassadors do

Ambassadors are the connection between a disc golf course and the UDisc community. In practice that means:

  • Keeping the course map accurate β€” tees, targets, fairways, and layouts

  • Updating course details when things change β€” hours, fees, closures, amenities

  • Adding photos so players know what to expect before they arrive

  • Using course data to track impact and advocate for the sport in their community

It's a volunteer role. There's no paycheck, but there are real tools and real perks that make it worthwhile.

What you get access to

Once approved, Ambassadors get access to a suite of Course Tools that can be accessed from UDisc.com/dashboard:

Mapping & layouts

  • Map Manager β€” Place and update tee positions, target locations, and fairways

  • Layout Builder β€” Create Smart Layouts that sync automatically with your map

  • Quick Targets β€” Update basket positions fast when pins move

Data & insights

  • Course Statistics β€” See play counts, recreation hours, unique players, tourism data, and hole-by-hole scoring

  • Fact Sheet β€” Download a shareable summary of your course's impact for advocacy with parks departments or municipalities

Course page

  • Photos tab β€” Upload and organize course photos

  • Course details β€” Edit hours, fees, amenities, accessibility info, and more

Perks

  • Free UDisc course signs β€” Physical signs with QR codes that link players directly to your course listing

  • Monthly impact reports β€” A deeper look at how your course is being used

Who makes a good Ambassador?

The best fit is someone who's already invested in the course β€” someone who knows when the baskets move, when the hours change, or when a new tee pad goes in. That might be:

  • A club member or club officer

  • A parks department employee or official

  • A pro shop owner or course manager

  • A dedicated local player who's out there every week

You don't need to be technical. The tools are built to be used on your phone while you're walking the course.

What's expected

Ambassadors are asked to keep course information current, review their course page at least once a year, and respond when their accuracy rating drops. Ambassadors who are inactive for 12 months or more may be removed from the role, though they can always reapply.

For the full breakdown of responsibilities and policies, see πŸ“‹ Course Ambassador Guidelines & Expectations.

How to apply

Step 1: Visit the application page

Step 2: Complete the application

You'll be asked to provide information about yourself and the course you want to support.

What if I selected the wrong affiliation type? If you selected the wrong affiliation type (e.g., Course Designer, Owner, Club Member), don't worry β€” it doesn't affect your access or tools as a Course Ambassador. The affiliation type is mainly used to let the UDisc team know how you're associated with the course when you apply, and is only visible to other Course Ambassadors and the UDisc team. If you'd still like it changed, reach out via chat or at help@udisc.com.

Step 3: Wait for approval

The UDisc team will review your application. Once approved, you'll receive access to all Course Ambassador tools.

Please note: Not all applications are approved. Some courses are managed by specific organizations or clubs that handle ambassador duties. If your application isn't approved and you have questions, reach out to ambassadors@udisc.com.

Step 4: Get started

After approval, access your Course Tools by:

  • Going to UDisc.com/dashboard, or

  • Finding your course in the app and tapping the 3-dot menu β†’ Course Tools

Already an Ambassador? Invite someone else

If you're an existing Ambassador looking to bring someone on, you can invite them directly from your Course Dashboard. See 🀝 Managing Course Ambassadors for instructions.

Can I find out who the Course Ambassador is for a course?

Course Ambassadors aren't publicly listed on course pages. If you notice something that needs updating β€” incorrect mapping, missing information β€” reach out via chat or at help@udisc.com and we can either connect you with the Ambassador or help get it updated directly.
