🌟 What is the Course Ambassador Program?

This article covers what the program is, what Ambassadors do, what you get access to, and how to get involved.

Updated this week

Audience: Anyone curious about the program, new and existing Course Ambassadors | Level: Beginner

Quick Answer

Course Ambassadors are the people behind every accurate course map on UDisc. They're the club members, park officials, shop owners, and dedicated local players who keep course information current so that every player β€” from first-timers to regulars β€” can show up knowing exactly what to expect.

What Ambassadors do

Ambassadors are the connection between a disc golf course and the UDisc community. In practice that means:

  • Keeping the course map accurate β€” tees, targets, fairways, and layouts

  • Updating course details when things change β€” hours, fees, closures, amenities

  • Adding photos so players know what to expect before they arrive

  • Using course data to track impact and advocate for the sport in their community

It's a volunteer role. There's no paycheck, but there are real tools and real perks that make it worthwhile.

What you get access to

Once approved, Ambassadors get access to a suite of Course Tools at UDisc.com/dashboard:

Mapping & layouts

  • Map Manager β€” Place and update tee positions, target locations, and fairways

  • Layout Builder β€” Create Smart Layouts that sync automatically with your map

  • Quick Targets β€” Update basket positions fast when pins move

Data & insights

  • Course Statistics β€” See play counts, recreation hours, unique players, tourism data, and hole-by-hole scoring

  • Fact Sheet β€” Download a shareable summary of your course's impact for advocacy with parks departments or municipalities

Course page

  • Photos tab β€” Upload and organize course photos

  • Course details β€” Edit hours, fees, amenities, accessibility info, and more

Perks

  • Free UDisc course signs β€” Physical signs with QR codes that link players directly to your course listing

  • Weekly course replays β€” A summary of recent activity on your course

  • Monthly impact reports β€” A deeper look at how your course is being used

Who makes a good Ambassador?

The best fit is someone who's already invested in the course β€” someone who knows when the baskets move, when the hours change, or when a new tee pad goes in. That might be:

  • A club member or club officer

  • A parks department employee or official

  • A pro shop owner or course manager

  • A dedicated local player who's out there every week

You don't need to be technical. The tools are built to be used on your phone while you're walking the course.

What's expected

Ambassadors are asked to keep course information current, review their course page at least once a year, and respond when their accuracy rating drops. Ambassadors who are inactive for 12 months or more may be removed from the role, though they can always reapply.

For the full breakdown of responsibilities and policies, see πŸ“‹ Course Ambassador Guidelines & Expectations.

How to get involved

If you're not already an Ambassador, you can apply directly from your course's listing in the app or on UDisc.com. If you're an existing Ambassador looking to bring someone else on, you can invite them from your Course Dashboard.
