When creating a map on the Map Manager, every tee and target position require a name, and optionally can include a color.
What is a target position name?
These are all the spots a target can be in. Each position needs to have a unique name. In the case above, the short target position is called "A", then there is "B" position, and the longest target position is "C". These same names will be used on every hole.
What is a tee position name?
If a hole has more than one tee, each position needs to a unique name. In the case above, the short tee is called "A" and the long one is called "B". These same names will be used on every hole.
Some other common naming schemes are:
π¨ Color (Red, Gold, etc)
π Distance (Short, Med, Long, etc.)
π‘ Alphabetical (A, B, C, etc.)
π Difficulty (Pro, Am, Rec, etc.)
Other (Main, Alternate, etc.)
What should I not do when naming my positions?
Each separate position on a hole requires it's own name. You can't have 2 positions on the same hole with the same position name. If a hole has 2 target positions, they cannot both be called "Main."
Tee and target position names are universal for the course, and should not include hole-specific details. If every hole on the course uses an A position, then that position name should only exist one time and can be used for every hole.
How can I change a tee or target position name?
Head to the Map Manager tab of your Course Tools and on the Overview tap/click Edit next to Map Settings. Locate the Tee position or Target position that you want to change, and tap the 3 dots on the right. Choose to edit the position name, make any needed changes and Confirm.
