Overview
Layouts connect to your Map Manager and automatically stay in sync with any map updates. The Layout Builder is a configuration tool, not a mapping tool — rather than building your course map, you're selecting which existing tees and targets to use for each hole and how they connect.
Step 1: Create your layout
Go to the Layouts tab of your Course Tools
Select Add layout to open the Layout Builder
Choose your layout type:
Course layout — best for layouts that are available at all times and use permanent tees and baskets
Event-specific layout — best for layouts that should only be visible to players during a specific event
Give your layout a name
Add a description so players know what to expect
Choose the number of holes for this layout
Add any layout notes that should appear on the scorecard
Choose how you want to map your layout:
One hole at a time — walk through the course map and select a tee and target for each hole
All at once — go straight to the overview and use quick setup options
Step 1.5: Choose layout behavior
Step 1.5: Choose layout behavior
Before mapping your holes, you'll be asked how you want the layout to handle basket positions:
Follow the basket (Recommended) — The layout will automatically update to match current basket locations. This keeps your layout active regardless of where the basket is placed.
Choose a specific basket position — The layout will only be active when a basket is installed in the specific position you select. If the basket moves out of that position, the layout will be deactivated.
Step 2: Map your layout
One hole at a time
Start with Hole 1 and select the tee and target from the map
You can choose any tee and any target from any hole available on the course
If a fairway doesn't already exist between your selected tee and target, a new one will be created
Need a temporary tee or target? You can add one — learn more here
Adjust details like hole name, par, and hole notes for each hole
Repeat for all holes, then review your layout on the Summary page
All at once
Set the tees and targets for every hole in one go:
Fast track — use the same tee and target for all holes
Manual setup — choose tees and targets individually using the dropdown options
Adjust hole details as needed, including hole name, par, and hole notes
Review the map at the top of the summary page to ensure everything looks correct
Step 3: Publish your layout
Tap Publish layout and your new layout will be added to the course and available for players immediately.
