πŸ—ΊοΈ What is Map Manager?

Map Manager is your course's blueprint β€” this is where you'll map and update all tees, targets, and fairways on your course.

⚑ Quick Answer

Map Manager is where you make all changes to your course map, including adding holes, tees, targets, and fairways, adjusting pars, and editing doglegs. Changes are not live until you tap Publish changes.

Note: Map changes go live immediately when you tap Publish changes β€” there's no review or approval process for map edits. If you're seeing an "awaiting approval" message, it's likely related to a course details change (such as availability or visibility) rather than your map.

πŸ†š Map Manager vs. Layouts tab

These two tools serve different purposes:

  • Map Manager is where you build and maintain your course map. Use it for initial course setup and any changes to the physical elements of your course β€” adding or repositioning tees, targets, and fairways, updating pars, or editing fairway doglegs.

  • Layouts tab is where you configure how those mapped elements are combined into playable layouts. Use it to create or edit layouts, set hole order, override pars for a specific layout, or build event-specific configurations. The Layout Builder works with what already exists in Map Manager β€” it doesn't add new physical elements.

πŸ’‘ Quick rule: If it's about the course map itself, use Map Manager. If it's about how holes are arranged or presented to players, use the Layouts tab. See πŸ“ How to edit an existing layout for everything you can configure there.

βž• Add new holes

Use More actions β†’ Add new holes to add holes to your map. You'll name the hole, set its par, then add tees and targets before publishing. See πŸ”’ How do I change my course's hole count? for full steps.

πŸ“ Add new tee or target positions

Use the Add tee or Add target position buttons at the top of the map to place a new position, assign it to a hole, and fill in its details. See πŸ“ Managing tee and target positions for full steps.

〰️ Add new fairways

You can use Map Manager to add new fairways, whether they are standard, safari, or temporary. To add a new fairway:

  1. Go to Course Tools β†’ Map Manager

  2. Tap the tee pad you want to throw from

  3. Tap Add fairway

  4. Select the basket you want to throw to

⚠️ Each tee and target can only have one fairway connecting them. It's not possible to assign multiple fairways to the same tee-target combination.

See πŸ—ΊοΈ Editing fairways in Map Manager for more on managing fairway details.

πŸ”€ Reposition existing tees or targets

If a tee or target position isn't correctly placed or has been permanently moved, you can reposition it in Map Manager. Tap the position on the map, tap Reposition, drag it to the correct spot, then tap Confirm placement. See πŸ“ Managing tee and target positions for all repositioning options including GPS and coordinate entry.

πŸ’‘ If the position isn't moving permanently, add a new temporary position instead β€” this preserves all data connected to the current position.

πŸ”’ Reorder and rename holes

If your course has undergone major changes β€” such as altered flow, added, or removed holes β€” you can reorder and rename holes in Map Manager using the Actions button in the upper right. See πŸ”€ Reorder and rename holes for full steps.

3️⃣ Change pars or edit custom distances

Map Manager allows you to change the par for each hole or set custom distances. Custom distances should only be used for small discrepancies β€” if the distance is significantly off, reposition the tee or target instead to get a more accurate GPS-calculated distance. See πŸ—ΊοΈ Editing fairways in Map Manager for full steps.

↗️ Add and edit doglegs

You can add and edit doglegs in Map Manager. This is most commonly used when creating new fairways, but can also be used for small adjustments to existing doglegs. See πŸ—ΊοΈ Editing fairways in Map Manager for full steps.

πŸ”„ Review or clear pending changes

Changes in Map Manager are not live until published. Before publishing, you have a few ways to manage pending changes:

  • Undo button β€” Tap Undo in the top left to reverse changes one at a time.

  • Discard all changes β€” Tap Review and publish, scroll to the bottom of the panel, and tap Discard all changes to clear everything at once.

  • Revert to a specific change β€” Tap Review and publish, find the last change you want to keep, and tap Revert to this change to roll back everything after it.

β›” Can't publish? Fix "needs review" errors first

Your map can't be published while any hole has unresolved errors β€” the Publish changes option stays unavailable until every hole checks out.

If publishing is blocked, look in the top left of Map Manager for an indicator like "1 hole needs review." Tap it to see exactly which holes have issues and what's missing. Common causes include a hole without a tee or target position, or a tee and target with no fairway connecting them β€” this often comes up right after adding new holes.

Once you resolve every item on the list, you'll be able to review and publish your changes.

πŸ’‘ Tip: Adding new holes? Each one needs its tees, targets, and a connecting fairway placed before the map can be published.

πŸ”— Combining two courses into one layout

If you have two or more separate courses listed in UDisc and want to create a single layout that spans both of them, this isn't something you can set up yourself in Map Manager. Ask to talk to a person in the chat and let us know which two courses you'd like to combine, along with the specific layout on each course you want used for the combined layout.

πŸ€ Adding a practice basket

There's no way to add a practice basket as a mapped element in Map Manager. If the basket is also in use for a layout, you can add it as its own basket and designate the tee it plays from. Otherwise, we suggest using the description section of your course details to let players know where to find the practice basket on your course.
