⚠️ Why does my layout say "Needs Attention"?

When a layout displays "Needs Attention" in your Layouts tab, it means the layout is broken and unavailable to players because an essential element (tee, target, or fairway) has been removed from the Map Manager.

Quick Answer

A layout marked "needs attention" is missing required elements. Edit the layout and ensure every hole has both a tee and target selected to restore it.

Why This Happens

Layouts can break when you make changes in Map Manager that remove elements currently being used by a layout:

  • Deleting a tee position that a layout uses

  • Deleting a target position that a layout uses

  • Deleting a fairway that connects a layout's tee and target

  • Making elements inactive that are needed by the layout

When this happens, the layout becomes unplayable and won't appear in the course listing for players until it's fixed.

How to Fix a Layout That Needs Attention

Step 1: Find the layout

  1. Go to your Course Tools dashboard

  2. Select the Layouts tab

  3. Look for any layout marked "Needs Attention"

Step 2: Edit the layout

  1. Tap the 3-dot menu on the layout that needs attention

  2. Tap Edit

  3. The Layout Builder will open

Step 3: Fix each hole

  1. Go through each hole one at a time

  2. Make sure every hole has:

    • A tee position selected

    • A target position selected

  3. If a hole is missing either element, select a valid tee and target from the available options

  4. Repeat for all holes on the layout

Step 4: Publish your changes

  1. Review your layout on the Overview page

  2. Verify that all holes are complete

  3. Tap Publish layout to save your changes

Once published, the layout will be active and available to players again.

How to Avoid This Issue

To prevent layouts from breaking when making changes in Map Manager:

  • Before deleting elements: Check which layouts use them

  • Plan your changes: Review all layouts after making Map Manager updates

If you need to remove a tee, target, or fairway that's currently in use, be prepared to update any affected layouts afterward.
