🗺️ Editing fairways in Map Manager

Use Map Manager to update fairway details including doglegs, custom distances, par, and hole notes.

Quick answer

Most fairway edits are made by selecting the fairway in Map Manager and tapping Edit to open the Fairway settings panel. Doglegs are the exception — those have their own dedicated option. Once you've made your changes, remember to tap Publish to make them live on your course.

Editing doglegs

  1. Go to the Map Manager tab of your Course Tools.

  2. Select the fairway that needs to be updated.

  3. Tap Add/edit doglegs.

  4. Tap and drag a point on the fairway to match the shape of the hole — tap Add Point if you need another point.

  5. Tap Confirm Doglegs.

To remove a dogleg point, tap on it and tap the trash can icon to delete it.

Editing par and distance

  1. Go to the Map Manager tab of your Course Tools.

  2. Select the fairway that needs to be updated.

  3. Tap Edit to open the Fairway settings panel.

  4. Adjust the Par field or tap the edit icon next to Distance to enter a custom distance.

  5. Tap Save.

  6. Tap Publish to make your changes live.

Note: The maximum allowed par is 6. If you only want to change the par for a specific layout rather than across all layouts, do that in the Layout Builder instead.

Custom distances are only appropriate for minor adjustments. Large discrepancies between GPS-calculated and custom distances reduce confidence in the layout difficulty and Round Ratings model and can disqualify your course. If the discrepancy is large, reposition your tee or basket instead to get a more accurate GPS-calculated distance. See Managing tee and target positions for how to do that.

Adding hole notes

Hole notes let you add important details — like OB, mandos, and special rules — that appear directly on active scorecards.

What to include:

  • Use clear, player-friendly language (e.g., "Pathway and beyond OB").

  • Keep notes rule-focused — avoid strategy tips.

  • No profanity or inappropriate content.

Notes can be added at two levels in Map Manager:

  • On the hole — notes apply to all tee and target combinations on that hole, regardless of which layout or position is being played. Use this for rules that apply no matter how the hole is configured.

  • On the fairway — notes apply only to that specific tee and target combination. Notes set at the fairway level will override any notes set at the hole level. Use this when a rule or detail only applies to a specific configuration.

To add notes at either level, select the hole or fairway in Map Manager, tap Edit, enter your notes in the Notes field, and tap Save.

If a layout has unique rules — for example, for a league or event — you can override Map Manager notes at the layout level instead. This is done when editing the layout in the Layout Builder.

Adding tee sign images

You can upload photos of your tee signs so players see them on their scorecard during a round. See Adding tee sign images for how to upload them in Map Manager.

My tee signs don't match UDisc

If the pars or distances shown on your tee signs don't match what players see in UDisc, there are two things you can update in Map Manager:

  • Pars: Update the par for each hole in the Fairway settings panel — see Editing par and distance above.

  • Tee and target positions: Reposition tees and targets to match the placement and distances shown on your tee signs. See Managing tee and target positions for how to do that.

Updated par in Map Manager but layouts still show the wrong par?

If you've saved and published your par changes in Map Manager but one or more layouts are still showing the wrong par, the most likely cause is a par override set at the layout level. Layout-level overrides take priority over Map Manager — so even after you update Map Manager, a layout with an override will continue showing the override value until it's removed.

To check and remove a par override:

  1. Go to Course Tools → Layouts and open the affected layout in the Layout Builder.

  2. Find the hole showing the wrong par.

  3. Tap the par field on that hole — if an override is set, you'll see an option to revert to the original par.

  4. Revert the override, then tap Publish layout.

Repeat for any other layouts showing the wrong par. If you've removed all overrides and published but the par is still incorrect, ask in the chat to talk to a human — our support team will take it from there.
