🔄 Why do I need to update my UDisc app?

Why you may see update reminders, what changes on September 28, 2026, and what to do about it.

You may see a message in the app, or get an email from us, asking you to update UDisc. Here's what's going on.

Why am I seeing this?

We're retiring some older technology behind the scenes that a small number of app versions still rely on. You won't notice a difference in how UDisc looks or works day to day, but once that older technology is retired, any older app version still using this technology will stop working.

When is this happening?

You may see reminders between now and late September. On September 28, 2026, older app versions will stop working:

  • iOS: versions before 24.0.0

  • Android: versions before 24.0.0

If your app is already on one of those versions or newer, you're all set and don't need to do anything.

Tip: Not sure what version you're on? Go to You, then the menu icon in the top right, then About UDisc, to find your current version number.

What do I need to do?

Update UDisc to the latest version from the App Store or Google Play Store. If you're not sure how, see How to update the UDisc app. After updating, open the app and log in.

What happens if I don't update?

If you don't update before September 28, you'll be logged out of the app. Trying to log back in will show an error, and the app won't work again until you update.

Important: Any rounds or scores that haven't already synced to your account will not be recoverable after that point.

I updated, but the app made me log in again. Is that normal?

Yes. Logging in again after you update is expected, not a bug. As part of this change, we're refreshing how your account stays signed in. If you're updating after a long stretch on an older version, you'll be asked to log in one time after the update finishes.

Note: After logging back in, UDisc will resync your account, courses, and scorecards. If you have a lot of round history, this can take a few minutes. Stay on a stable connection and give it a little time before assuming something's wrong.

My device won't let me update. What are my options?

A small number of older devices can't run the current version of UDisc. If the App Store or Google Play Store won't offer you an update, your device may not meet our minimum requirements.

Note: There is unfortunately no workaround available for this, devices that do not meet the minimum requirements will not be able to run UDisc.
