Audience: League Players | Level: Beginner | Requires: UDisc account, participation in a handicap-enabled league
⚡ Quick Answer
Your handicap appears as a Starting Score on your scorecard and the leaderboard when you check into a league event. If you see a dash (–) instead of a number, you haven't completed enough qualifying rounds yet — play one singles round on a Smart Layout in your league and you'll receive a handicap for the next event.
📍 Where to See Your Handicap
Your starting score (handicap) shows up in a few places:
At check-in — Your starting score is displayed when you check into a handicap-enabled league event
On your scorecard — Once your round starts, your starting score appears at the top of the scorecard in the app
On the leaderboard — Tap Leaderboard during or after the event to see both the handicap-adjusted total and the raw round score
⚠️ Your handicap is league-specific. A handicap earned in one league does not carry over to a different league or a standalone event.
❓ Why Do I See a Dash (–) Instead of a Handicap?
A dash means you are not yet eligible for a handicap in this league. This is normal for new members.
✅ To qualify for a handicap, you need:
At least one completed singles round in this league, played on a Smart Layout
The round must have been completed (not abandoned or cancelled)
The round must have been played within the past year
Once you meet these requirements, your handicap will be calculated and applied starting with your next event in the same league.
💡 Note: Rounds from other leagues, casual rounds, and standalone events do not count toward your handicap calculation in this league.
⚠️ There is no historical handicap view. UDisc does not have a page or screen where you can see your past handicaps or an average handicap across events. Your starting score is only visible in the context of an active or completed league event.
🔢 How Is My Handicap Calculated?
UDisc calculates your handicap automatically — you don't need to do anything. Here's what goes into it:
Your five most recent qualifying league rounds within the past year are used
Each round must be singles format on a Smart Layout
Your scores are compared against the difficulty of each hole to determine your skill level
Your handicap is rounded to the nearest whole number for each event
The result is your Starting Score, which adjusts your total on the leaderboard so players of all skill levels have a fair chance to compete.
💡 Handicaps adjust based on the layout played. If your league rotates courses or uses a different layout than usual, your handicap will still be calculated using that layout's hole characteristics.
📊 How Do I See the Handicap-Adjusted Leaderboard?
During and after your round:
Open the event in the Events tab
Tap Leaderboard
Use the toggle to switch between Handicap-adjusted total and Total round score
Players without a handicap will appear at the bottom of the handicap-adjusted view.
🔧 Troubleshooting
❓ Can I see my average handicap or handicap history?
Issue: Player wants to view their handicap over time or calculate an average
Solution: This is not supported in UDisc. There is no historical handicap view or average handicap score. Your starting score is only visible when checking into or participating in an active league event. Each event's handicap is calculated fresh based on your five most recent qualifying rounds.
❓ I played last week but still don't have a handicap
Issue: Your round may not have counted toward your handicap
Solution: Confirm the event was a singles format round played on a Smart Layout and that the event was fully completed by the league admin. Rounds must be completed for results to factor into future handicap calculations.
❓ My handicap doesn't look right
Issue: Your starting score seems too high or too low
Solution: Handicaps are calculated automatically based on your recent performance in this specific league. If you believe there's an error, contact your league director first — they can review your event history. If the issue persists, reach out to us at help@udisc.com with your league name, the affected event dates, and a screenshot of your starting score.
❓ My handicap was assigned at check-in but didn't apply at the end of my round
Issue: Starting score shows at check-in but is missing from final results
Solution: Contact your league director and ask them to reach out to us at help@udisc.com with a screenshot of the affected scorecard, the player names involved, and the league event date.
