Eligibility
Publicly listed courses are eligible for a free physical sign. Courses set to Playable by everyone or Limited qualify for a physical sign. Courses set to Invite only or Special events can download a free virtual copy instead.
Ordering your sign
Physical signs
Log into your UDisc account.
Go to Course Tools → Course signs tab.
Select your preferred language.
Click Get my free course sign.
Change the quantity and language as needed, then click Next: shipping details.
Fill in all required shipping details.
Click Submit order.
Note: Signs typically arrive within 2–4 weeks of your order date. If you ordered a sign in the United States, receive a confirmation email when your order ships — until then, "in process" means it's still in production. If your sign hasn't arrived after 4 weeks, ask to talk to a person in the chat and include your order confirmation details.
Ordering for multiple courses? If you're a Course Ambassador for more than one course, place a separate order through each course's Course Tools.
How many signs can I order?
You can order up to 4 physical signs. Ordering more than one is recommended if your course has multiple entry points or a clubhouse where an additional sign would be visible.
Virtual signs
Any course can download a free virtual copy of their sign, whether or not they're eligible for a physical sign.
Log into your UDisc account.
Go to Course Tools → Course signs tab.
Select your preferred language.
Click Download this sign.
Your sign will automatically download to your computer. You can download it unlimited times.
What's on the sign?
Each sign includes your course name, the UDisc logo, and a unique QR code that links directly to your course page in the app.
How much do signs cost?
Physical and virtual signs are completely free for Course Ambassadors of publicly listed courses.
Installing your sign
Step 1: Scan it first
Before installing, scan your sign's QR code to verify it links to your course page in the UDisc app. If you ordered multiple signs, scan each one individually.
Step 2: Pick your spot
Choose a high-traffic area like hole 1 or near your course info board. If your course has multiple entry points, consider installing a sign at each one so players can always find their way.
Step 3: Mount it
Each sign has two pre-drilled holes. Use outdoor screws (#8 or #10 wood screws) and mount it on a post or info board with hard backing for maximum durability.
Step 4: Mark it as installed
Once your sign is up, mark it as installed in Course Tools → Course signs tab or from your Course Dashboard. This lets the UDisc team know your sign is in use and helps us understand where signs are making an impact.
Note: Only the current generation of UDisc course signs — which include your course name and a course-specific QR code — can be marked as installed. If you have an older sign without a course-specific QR code, you'll need to order a new sign before you can mark one as installed.
Printing a virtual sign
If you'd like to print your downloaded sign, take it to a professional sign shop with these specs:
Size: 200x300mm (approximately 8"x12")
Material: 3mm ACM (Dibond)
Ink: UV resistant
Finishing: Rounded corners, 2 pre-drilled holes
If a sign shop isn't an option, you can print on 65–100 lb cardstock and laminate for durability. You can also share the digital file on social media or ask your local municipality or partner organization to post it on their website.
Why install a course sign?
A course sign gets players directly to your course page where they can find layout details and start a round. Every scan also means another potential round recorded in the app — and more stats you can use to understand play activity and advocate for disc golf in your community.
Your physical sign is designed for outdoor use with UV-resistant ink and weather-resistant materials, and should last at least 3 years.
Common questions
What do the numbers on my sign mean?
In the bottom right corner of your physical sign you'll see numbers like 001 or 002. These identify each individual sign and are used when contacting UDisc for support or replacement requests.
I can't find the option to mark my sign as installed — why?
Only the current generation of UDisc course signs can be marked as installed. Older signs that don't include a course-specific QR code are no longer supported. Order a new sign through Course Tools → Course signs tab — it's free — and once it's installed you'll be able to mark it as installed from there.
What if my sign is lost, stolen, or vandalized?
Ask to talk to a person in the chat and include:
The reason your sign needs to be replaced
Your course name
The sign number (e.g., sign 001) if you have multiple
What if my QR code doesn't scan correctly?
Ask to talk to a person in the chat and share your course name and sign number — the team will get it sorted.
