🎯 Does UDisc support alternate scoring formats like match play, skins, or ace race?

UDisc only supports traditional stroke play scoring. Learn why we can't support alternate formats like match play, skins, ace race, or putting leagues.

UDisc is built specifically for traditional stroke play scoring, where each throw counts as one stroke. Alternate scoring formats that use points-based systems or non-stroke play rules aren't currently supported.

What formats aren't supported?

UDisc can't score any format that doesn't follow standard stroke play, including:

  • Match play

  • Skins

  • Ace race

  • Putting leagues

  • Cut lines between rounds

  • Any other points-based formats

What about doubles or team formats?

Team formats like doubles, best shot doubles, and alternate shot are fully supported — these still use stroke play scoring. It's specifically points-based scoring systems that aren't supported.

Why doesn't UDisc support these formats?

Recording rounds with alternate scoring formats throws off stats for everyone. Things like average scores, layout difficulty, and round ratings all depend on accurate stroke play data to be meaningful.

Can I still list my event on UDisc?

Yes — you can create an event listing for alternate format events so players can discover it and get all the details. You'll just need to handle scoring outside of UDisc.
