What is required to play in an event that uses UDisc for scoring?
All players are required to have a UDisc account. Please note however, this does not require UDisc Pro, or that they download and use the app. Anyone can sign up for a free account at UDisc.com/sign-up and play your event, even if they don’t wish to download UDisc. A free UDisc account now includes unlimited scorecards!
Is walk-up registration supported?
Yes, registration can be set up to Never end so that a player can walk-up and register for your event day of. To change this setting head to the Registration tab in your event. Alternatively, you can turn off registration and just allow players to check themselves in without needing to register. To change this, head to the Registration tab and select Yes under Can participants check themselves in?
If an external registration site is used, can I import players into my UDisc Event?
Currently there is no bulk import option if you're using another registration site. If players are not registering on UDisc themselves, they can be added from the Players tab using their UDisc username. Alternatively, you can also turn on player check in to allow players check themselves in and create their own cards. Learn more about using player check in here.
Can I export scores after an event?
Yes, scores can be exported from the Leaderboard after your event. Learn more here.
How do I use UDisc scoring for my event?
There are 2 ways that UDisc Scoring can be turned on.
When creating your event, select Yes under I will be using UDisc to score my Event.
From the Scoring tab of your Event tools, select Yes under I will be using UDisc to score my Event.
How do I set up divisions? Are divisions required?
Divisions are not required to run a UDisc event. If you create a UDisc event without divisions, a general (GEN) division will be created for you. To learn more about creating divisions, refer to this article.
Can I change the titles of divisions?
Yes, you can create custom division names. Read more in this dedicated article.
Where do I select the layout(s) being played during the event?
From the Rounds tab of your Event tools, you will be prompted to select which course and layout is being played for that round. To learn more about setting up your rounds check out this dedicated article.
What if I have different pools playing different layouts?
Use Pools to assign divisions to different pools, and set which course and layout each pool will play for each round from the Divisions & Pools tab of your Event tools. Learn more in this article.
How will players access their scorecard?
Once you have set up your scorecards from the Cards tab of your Event tools, and published the round, scorecards will automatically be sent to players in the UDisc app in their Home tab. The scorecard will remain locked until the beginning of the round, at which point any player on the card will be able to access it and enter scores.
Can a TD create a cut line in between rounds?
No, it's currently not possible to create a cut line when using UDisc to score an event.
How can I share the event leaderboard?
When viewing an event leaderboard, you can copy the link from your browser and share that, or tap Share in the upper right. Sharing via the Share button will send the event page, but from there the leaderboard can be viewed by tapping Scores.
What is the difference between Events and Leagues on UDisc?
UDisc Leagues should be used when you are running events that are connected, run weekly, or otherwise would benefit from being housed in the same place. UDisc Leagues also support Standings - learn more here. UDisc Events are great for standalone events such as annual tournaments.
