What are Messages & updates?
The Messages & updates tab, is a space where communications can be listed directly on the event and emailed to players. There are some differences in the types of communication you can send from a UDisc Event versus a UDisc League.

From your UDisc Event you can send a:
push notification
email
post an update
From your UDisc League you can:
choose to send an email to all league players
choose to send an โevent specific messageโ including:
push notifications
email
post an update
How do I send a push notification?
To send a push notification to players, follow the steps below:
From either your League tools or Event tools, tap into the Messages & updates tab and then tap + New Message.
Tap into Messages & updates
If sending a message in League tools, select Send event specific message
Then, select your event
Tap + New Message
Select who you're sending to
Everyone - this will send to everyone that is registered, manually added, or checked into the event
Let me choose - this allows you to manually select players you want to send to with the options to select recipients by: division, pools, or manually select
Tap push notification
Select the type of message
this differentiates the icon that is used when the push notification is sent
Type your message
Tap Send to (total) recipient
๐ Please note: push notifications can only be sent once players have been added to (or checked into) an event.
How do I send an email to my players?
To send an email to players in your event, follow the steps below:
Tap into Messages & updates
If sending a message in League tools, select Send event specific message
Then, select your event
Select + New message
Select who you're sending to
Everyone - this will send to everyone that is registered, manually added, or checked into the event
Let me choose - this allows you to manually select players you want to send to with the options to select recipients by: division, pools, or manually select
Tap Email
Select who you're sending to
Everyone - this will send to everyone that is registered, manually added, or checked into the event
Let me choose - this allows you to manually select players you want to send to with the options to select recipients by: division, pools, or manually select
Tap push notification
Select where replies to this email should go
Your UDisc account email will be shown, as well the email added to your event (or league)
Type your email in the body
Tap Send to (total) recipients

How do I send an email to my entire league?
To send an email to all members of your league, follow the steps below:
Tap into Messages & updates
Select Send email to league members
Select who you're sending to
Everyone - this will send to everyone that is a member of your league
Let me choose - this allows you to manually select individual league members
Select where replies to this email should go
Your UDisc account email will be shown, as well the email added to your league settings
Type your email in the Body
Tap Send to (total) recipients
๐ Please note: emails can't be unsent! Please make sure to proofread your email and ensure there isn't any profanity or abusive language.
How do I post an update
To post an update to your event page, follow the steps below:
Tap into Messages & updates
If sending a message in League tools, select Send event specific message
Then, select your event
Select + New message
Select who you're sending to
Everyone - this will send to everyone that is registered, manually added, or checked into the event
Let me choose - this allows you to manually select players you want to send to with the options to select recipients by: division, pools, or manually select
Tap Update
Type your Title
Type your update in the Body
Hit Post update
โจ Pro tip! Updates can be edited once sent. Head back into your Message & updates, hit the 3-dot-menu, then Edit.
All updates are posted publicly on the Updates tab of your event. This tab is visible not only to players, but to anyone that finds this event. The update will display the name of Event admin that posted it, the title, and full description. If multiple updates are added, the most recent update will populate first. If no updates are posted, the Updates tab will not appear on your event.
