πŸ“£ How do I send communications to players?

How to send push notifications, emails, and event updates to players in your UDisc league or event.

The Messages & updates tab lets you communicate directly with players β€” before, during, or after your event. There are a few differences between what you can send from a league versus an event.

From League tools you can:

  • Send an email to all league members

  • Send an event-specific message (push notification, email, or update) to players in a specific event

From Event tools you can:

  • Send a push notification

  • Send an email

  • Post a public update on the event page

How to send a push notification

  1. Go to Messages & updates in your League tools or Event tools

    1. If in League tools, tap Send event specific message and select your event

  2. Tap + New message

  3. Select who you're sending to β€” Everyone (all registered, added, or checked-in players) or Let me choose (filter by division, pool, or select manually)

  4. Tap Push notification

  5. Select the message type β€” this determines the icon shown with the notification

  6. Type your message

  7. Tap Send to [total] recipients

Note: Push notifications can only be sent once players have been added to or checked into an event.

How to send an email to event players

  1. Go to Messages & updates in your League tools or Event tools

    1. If in League tools, tap Send event specific message and select your event

  2. Tap + New message

  3. Select who you're sending to β€” Everyone or Let me choose

  4. Tap Email

  5. Select where replies should go β€” your UDisc account email or the email listed on your event or league

  6. Type your email in the Body field

  7. Tap Send to [total] recipients

Note: Emails can only be sent once players have been added to or checked into an event.

How to send an email to all league members

  1. Go to Messages & updates in your League tools

  2. Tap Send email to league members

  3. Select who you're sending to β€” Everyone (all league members) or Let me choose (select individual members)

  4. Select where replies should go

  5. Type your email in the Body field

  6. Tap Send to [total] recipients

Important: Emails can't be unsent. Proofread before sending and make sure your message doesn't contain any profanity or abusive language.

How to post an update

Updates are posted publicly on the Updates tab of your event β€” visible to anyone who finds the event, not just registered players. If no updates are posted, the tab won't appear.

  1. Go to Messages & updates in your League tools or Event tools

  2. If in League tools, tap Send event specific message and select your event

  3. Tap + New message

  4. Select who you're sending to β€” Everyone or Let me choose

  5. Tap Update

  6. Type a Title and your update in the Body

  7. Tap Post update

Tip: Updates can be edited after posting. Go back to Messages & updates, tap the 3-dot menu next to the update, then tap Edit.
