There are 2 different ways to set up a layout.
Follow the basket (Recommended)
When this option is selected, the layout will always stay active and up-to-date. When the basket moves to a new position, the layout will update accordingly.
Choose a specific basket position
When this option is selected, the layout will only be active when there is a basket installed in the selected basket position. If there are any basket positions on your layout that do not have a basket installed, the layout will become inactive.
A layout can also become inactive if a tee or fairway being used on the layout becomes inactive. Double check that all needed fairways are active!
If a layout becomes inactive unexpectedly, check the tees, targets, and fairways on the Map Manager and make adjustments as needed. Afterward, revisit and modify the layout. These steps often resolve temporary inactivation issues.
Setting layout behavior is only applicable when creating a new layout. When editing a layout, you can select either a physical basket or specific position on each hole individually using the drop-down options.
How do I choose to follow the basket or use a specific position on an existing layout?
When using the dropdown menu on a hole to choose your target, you'll see two types of options:
Physical targets are listed at the top, with the target type displayed next to each option.
Positions are listed underneath the physical targets and show all available pin placements.
Important differences:
If you select a position: The layout will be deactivated whenever that specific position is not active on the course.
If you select a target: The layout will automatically update when the target moves to different positions and will remain active regardless of pin placement.
This allows you to either lock your layout to a specific pin position or have it dynamically follow wherever the basket is placed.
