Classic Layouts are being phased out in 2025 in order to provide a better experience for players and Course Ambassadors. Learn about a few of the highlights below:

  • Improved mapping. Smart Layouts provide an easier mapping experience for Course Ambassadors, as it allows them to reuse the same tee pads and baskets throughout multiple layouts without needing to walk the course again. This means more accurate mapping for players!

  • Better stats. Smart Layouts provide comprehensive stats for players and Course Ambassadors, including global hole scores averages, round ratings, and layout difficulty. These stats help players understand and improve their game, and also play a critical role in helping Course Ambassadors to demonstrate the growth of disc golf.

  • Accurate layouts. If you're playing from a different tee pad, or the wrong basket is used in the layout, you can get it fixed! When playing on a Smart Layout, tap the orange basket icon in the top right of your scorecard. Learn more here.

Can I still play Classic Layouts?

Though updating Classic Layouts will no longer be supported, you can still play a Classic Layout that already exists. The ability to add new Classic Layouts or edit existing Classic Layouts will be removed.

What should I do with my Classic Layouts?

If you are a Course Ambassador, you can convert your Classic Layout to Smart Layouts using the steps in this article. If you are using UDisc Leagues or Events, you can use the Layout Builder within your tools to create an event-specific layout: learn more here.
