If someone keeps adding you to scorecards without your permission — usually because you share a common username and they're picking the wrong player — you can set a cardmate code on your profile. Anyone adding you for the first time will need to enter a 4-digit code to confirm it's really you.
How do I set up a cardmate code?
Tap the You tab.
Tap your username in the upper right (next to @).
Tap Edit profile.
Scroll down to the cardmate code option (below the PDGA number field).
Toggle it on, set your 4-digit code, and save.
Can I change or remove my code later?
Yes — go back to Edit profile at any time to update your code or turn it off.
What does it look like for someone trying to add me?
They'll be prompted to enter your cardmate code before they can add you. If you're playing with someone in person, just tell them your code. You can always check your current code by going back to Edit profile.
Who has to enter the code?
Only players adding you for the first time. Once someone has been on a scorecard with you, they won't need the code again — which is why it's also important to get unwanted connections removed (see below).
What about scorecards I was already added to by mistake?
You can remove yourself from any scorecard you didn't intend to be on by opening it and removing yourself. But to fully stop the person from adding you again without a code, you'll also need to get removed from their cardmates list — setting a code alone won't apply to anyone already connected to you.
Ask to talk to a person in the chat and let us know the situation. We can remove the unwanted connection from their cardmates list so your code will be required if they try to add you again. It's worth knowing that this is almost always accidental — another player with a similar username picking the wrong person — rather than intentional.
