What are automatic target changes?
When players at the course are playing a layout and notice a target hasn't been updated in UDisc, they can use the orange change button to select a different target or tee. Once enough players have reported the same change, UDisc bots will update the target and send you an email notification.
You know your course best, so make sure to update and review your Quick Targets anytime you make a target position change on the course.
This tool is meant as a fail-safe to ensure that when things get busy for you, targets are still being updated within the app!
Note: An automatic target change only switches a layout between positions you've already set up in Map Manager โ it doesn't move or create a position itself. Because no position is actually moving, this doesn't reset any stats for the fairway.
Why aren't all of my layouts changing?
Any layout set to Follow the basket will update automatically. Layouts assigned a specific position will not be changed.
What is target change sensitivity?
The target change sensitivity tool in the Advanced section of your Course Tools lets you control how many player reports are needed before an automatic change occurs.
Low: more players must report the same change before it takes effect. Useful for high-traffic courses or when you want more control over updates.
Medium: the recommended default setting for most courses.
High: fewer reports are needed before a change occurs. Useful for low-traffic courses or courses with multiple active targets.
For most courses, medium is the right setting and won't need adjusting.
Preventing automatic changes on a specific layout
If you have a layout that should never update automatically โ such as a league layout or a configuration you want to keep fixed โ you have two options:
Lock the layout to a specific position. Set each hole to Choose a specific basket position instead of Follow the basket. Layouts locked to a specific position are never affected by automatic target changes, regardless of sensitivity settings.
Lower your sensitivity. Setting sensitivity to Low requires more players to report the same change before anything updates, giving you more control on busier courses.
Disabling automatic target changes for your whole course
If you have a specific reason for wanting automatic target changes turned off entirely for your course, ask to talk to a person in the chat and explain your situation โ the team can look into disabling it for you.
