🔊 What is the Bushnell Disc Jockey?

Learn how the Bushnell Disc Jockey works with UDisc to call out your distance to the basket, and how to pair and troubleshoot it.

The Bushnell Disc Jockey is a portable Bluetooth speaker that integrates with UDisc to call out your distance to the basket. You can play music or audio through it, then press the Bushnell Button on the side to hear your distance to the target. Press and hold the button to hear a summary of current scores for you and your cardmates.

Where to get the Disc Jockey

The Disc Jockey may be available directly from Bushnell or from select disc golf retailers. If it's out of stock at Bushnell, check retailers like OTB Discs or your local disc golf shop.

How to pair your Disc Jockey

  1. Update the UDisc app to the most recent version.

  2. Go to You → Menu → App settings.

  3. Tap Bushnell Disc Jockey.

  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to pair.

Note: You'll need to pair both the speaker and the Bushnell Button separately. Pair the speaker through your phone's Bluetooth settings (look for "Disc Jockey"), then pair the Bushnell Button through the UDisc app.

Tips for best results

  • Use an accurate layout map. The Disc Jockey calculates distance by comparing your phone's GPS location to the basket position in UDisc. Make sure the course layout is mapped and that the map is enabled (tap the toggle in the upper right of the scorecard).

  • Enable Bluetooth. Make sure Bluetooth is on in your phone's Settings app before starting your round.

  • Keep your phone in the open. For the most accurate distance readings, hold your phone with a clear line of sight to the sky.

  • Once paired, the Bushnell Button connects to UDisc automatically when you open a scorecard. You'll see the Bushnell B icon in the upper right of the scorecard map when it's connected and ready.

UDisc troubleshooting

  • Tap the B icon in the upper right of the scorecard map to check pairing status and see more options. You can also access this from You → Menu → App settings → Bushnell Disc Jockey.

  • If the Disc Jockey won't connect, try restarting both your phone and the Disc Jockey. If that doesn't work, go to You → Menu → App settings → Bushnell Disc Jockey, tap the gear icon or X to unpair, then scan for devices again to re-pair.

  • To change the announcement voice, tap the gear icon in the Bushnell Disc Jockey settings. On Android, you can also adjust speed and pitch.

  • If you don't see Bushnell Disc Jockey in your settings, make sure you're on the latest version of UDisc.

  • You can check remaining battery life in your phone's Bluetooth system settings.
