Once a Classic Layout is approved and in the app, a map can be added, and existing Classic Layout maps can be edited.

Classic Layouts are outdated and have been replaced by Smart Layouts. Course Ambassadors, as well as League and Event admins can now create Smart Layouts. Why should you use Smart Layouts?

If you don't have access to create a new Smart Layout, and using a Classic Layout is necessary, you can add or edit the map of Classic Layout that has been approved.

Map a Classic Layout

The best way to create or update a map for a Classic Layout is to walk the course, using the GPS on your phone to accurately place tees, baskets and doglegs.

  1. Navigate to the course’s page in the Courses tab.

  2. Then, scroll to the Layouts section and tap Update layouts.

  3. Tap Update next to the layout you want to create a map for, then tap Update map. You can also select Update Map when editing any layout, as explained in our article on Classic Layouts.

  4. If no mapping has been added, you’ll see Create map. Tap this to get started.

  5. From here you’ll tap and hold on the map to add a tee pad, then a basket, and finally any doglegs that exist within the fairway. Once finished, tap Finish hole to move to the next hole.

  6. Once you’ve finished mapping, tap Submit for review. If you need to exit mapping at any point, tap the “X” in the top left and you’ll see options to Save for later and Discard changes.

Using the Map Editor

In the map editor, use the arrows at the bottom to scroll to the hole you wish to edit. You can also tap a basket to jump to that hole. When you are ready to edit a hole -

  1. Tap Edit in the upper-right corner.

  2. Tap and hold the arrow above the tee and repositon.

  3. Tap and hold the basket and reposition.

  4. Tap and hold in the middle of the fairway to add or move a dogleg.

  5. After all mapping edits have been made, Submit the changes.

Not all Classic Layout updates or new Classic Layouts will be approved. Approvals can take up to 24-48 hours, though we always try to approve submissions sooner whenever possible.
